So I decided that perhaps this is just an issue with tier one and time to unlock tier 2. I expected to eventually find a hidden weapon of power and awesomeness and instead I just kept finding junk after more junk. Much to my dismay none of those were better than the broadsword I made in my first couple hours of gameplay. During those I have found a ton of dropped weapons, and purchased weapon blueprints. Many many hours of gameplay later, I have explored dozens of planets, found plenty of villages, caverns, pirate ships, guarded labs, and other features. I crafted it and went exploring other words, and playing with friends. So I made a pickaxe, grabbed some food, and proceeded to mine until I gathered the materials to make the broadsword that you have the default recipe for on the anvil. When I first started this game I saw how powerful the starting sword was and decided as a first goal to upgrade it. First of all I have to say I absolutely love this game, but I am finding one element less than enjoyable: You can't loot decent weapons or armor.
